Quick Weight Loss Centers Announces Winners in 2008 $10,000 Weight Loss Contest!
Plantation, FL (PRWEB) February 25, 2009 -- Quick Weight Loss Centers (http://quickweightloss.net/) has revealed the winners of the 2008 $10,000 Weight Loss Challenge. Gretchen Hernandez, of Lauderhill, Florida, is the Grand Prize winner. Gretchen impressed the judges with her impressive physical transformation, as well as her inspirational weight loss story (http://quickweightloss.net/pr_quick_weight_loss_winners_2008.php).
Gretchen lost 48 pounds following the Quick Weight Loss program (http://quickweightloss.net/program.php). Before coming to Quick Weight Loss, Gretchen had struggled with her weight for years, losing a few pounds, only to quickly regain them. Her parents' concern about her weight inspired her to make a change, and she went from 183 pounds to 135 pounds. After losing the weight, she visited her parents and she says, "they didn't recognize me. I hadn't told them about my lifestyle change, so it was a surprise. My Dad said he would have driven right by me if I hadn't been standing next to my sister! Now that's rewarding."
The other winners of the Quick Weight Loss Challenge also displayed impressive physical transformations and had great stories to tell.
First runner up, MarQuetta Brantley of Miami, lost 37 pounds in 14 weeks and went from a size 18 to a size 6. An aspiring R&B singer, MarQuetta was struggling to make it in the entertainment business due to her weight. Now that she's lost the weight, MarQuetta says, "Now everyone notices me and wants to work with me. My dream is finally coming true thanks to Quick Weight Loss."
Second runner up, Jane Lynch from Ft. Lauderdale, was inspired by a friend of hers. "After having lunch with a friend I hadn't seen for a few months who had been to Quick Weight Loss I went straight home and called for an appointment. She looked fabulous. If I could do half as well as she had I thought it would be a miracle." Jane lost 37 pounds, bringing her to the lowest weight she's been for 30 years.
Due to the number of amazing entries that were received this year, Quick Weight Loss declared a tie for third runner up between Michael Maleh of Plantation, and Tricia and Larry Crisci, a couple from Port St. Lucie. Michael lost 79 pounds, bringing his blood pressure down to a healthy level and allowing him to play more actively with his young daughters. Tricia and Larry Crisci lost 49 pounds and 117 pounds respectively, allowing them to set a healthy example for their young daughter, as well as allowing Larry to fulfill his dream of becoming a soldier in the US Army.
Honorable mentions in the contest were awarded to Louise Smith (Palm Beach Gardens), Arlene Everette (Davie), Sigal Gilad (Parkland), Karen Jarman (West Palm Beach), Kim Little (Coral Springs), Melissa White (Hollywood), Jessica Jones (Boynton Beach), and Mary Hayen (Weston).
The winners of the Quick Weight Loss Challenge were selected from a group of 25 finalists. Pictures of the finalists, along with their weight loss stories, can be viewed at http://quickweightloss.net/winners. Together, the 25 $10,000 Weight Loss Challenge finalists lost over 1300 pounds.
